Firefox 4 Vs Google Chrome: Top 4 Differences

As Mozilla has recently announced the availability of Firefox 4 beta for download, the tech world has started comparing it with Google Chrome. They feel that Mozilla’s new browser has so many things in common with Chrome. It seems Mozilla has snatched some of the design ideas of the Google browser. Though the two browsers look similar, there of course exist some differences. Some of which are highlighted here.

  1. Google Chrome employs omnibar for URLs and search whereas Firefox has a drop down omnimenu that contains all the options that were available with its menu bar of the older version.
  2. Both the browsers have tabs on top of the navigation bar, but there is a slight difference. In Google Chrome, tabs are positioned on the top, as they appear on the uppermost rim of the windows. Firefox 4 has tabs arranged below the omnimenu.
  3. Chrome has an exclusive bookmarks bar for associated actions and option whereas Firefox 4 has employed a separate button that appear next to the search bar for serving the purpose of bookmarks and related options.
  4. It looks like the new Mozilla browser has wasted some space on top of each window. However, the browser offers plenty of room to browse as it has packed the entire bookmark functionalities into a single button. It beats the Google browser by six pixels.

As Firefox 4 is still in beta, more enhancements are expected to be done. It is indeed a great competitor for Google Chrome.
